How Lunura Works
Every breath has four parts: the inhale, the internal hold, the exhale, and the external hold.
What is a breath ratio?
The specific number of seconds spent in each phase creates a breath ratio.
A Step
One breathing pattern: a breath ratio defined by either duration or number of breath cycles.
A Journey
A sequence of steps chained together into a complete practice.
Two Ways to Use Lunura
Daily Energy Management
Use the right breath for the right moment. Stressed before a meeting? Struggling to sleep? Need a boost at 3pm? There is a preset for that. These are your on-demand tools, available whenever you need them.
Foundational Practice
A structured, progressive curriculum that systematically retrains your body over time, following the ancient principle of gradual adaptation - ensuring your nervous system strengthens safely and effectively as you progress. This is the deeper path, where consistent practice can create lasting change.
Both live inside the app, organised into expandable categories so the interface stays clean and you only see what you need.
Foundational Practice
The Kumbhak Presets
The three Kumbhak presets form the core of Lunura's 12-level progression system. Levels 1 and 2 are already built into the Kumbhak Journey - your starting point. Practice the journey at least 3 times a week.
When to Level Up
When you have completed at least 20 sessions at your current level, you are ready to add the next. Add one new level at the beginning of each month as a custom step to your journey. Over time, you work your way through all 12 levels, each one building on the last.
Daily Energy Management
For when needed: Use these presets whenever you need them - no schedule, no commitment. Each one is designed for a specific moment.
